I create tree-inspired totemic sculptures using a combination of thrown cylindrical and handbuilt additions. I add stains and colored slips to my pieces for color. I create these anthropomorphic tree forms to give respect to the power and longevity of trees and their significance to our lives on Earth. Like our ancestors, trees stand quietly and powerfully in our presence, and we depend on them for our lives as human beings.
